  Very friendly and great with advance orders. Functional baked goods, not high-end but decent breads, rolls and desserts. Could offer more vegan options.

  First I should point out I'm mostly a Sehome Haggen shopper. On occasion I stop at Meridian when on that side of town and short on time. For the most part I have had a positive experience over time but have noticed the meat and produce quality has been slipping in the last year or more. Months ago when I was cooking thin cut meats, mainly pork and steak, in a pan a foam-like stuff formed around the meat as it cooked. I asked about it in the meat dept. saying it didn't used to do that and was told, "so broil it". So I stopped buying it. Steaks from this store, even from the meat counter, seemed tasteless so I stopped buying those. The meat overall seems to have a lot of water added. I bought some apples this week that were mealy. I also bought a roasted chicken for dinner that same night that I also feed my little dog who normally likes it and has it often without the skin. It was very fatty and somewhat slimey. The containers were anywhere from 1/4 to almost 1/2 full of liquid that the chicken is sitting in. I couldn't eat it and neither would my dog. I don't know if this Haggen is buying meat from a different source or is changing how it handles meat - IE additives and water - but something has changed. I gave a 2 only because of the nice employees.
